About The Position
At Joyous Ventures, we are committed to providing immediate support to individuals and families experiencing homelessness or crisis. Through our dedicated Social Services Team, we help participants navigate available resources and access comprehensive care. We assist with securing healthcare services (medical home, dental care, wellness programs), linkages to mental health and substance abuse support, guidance with benefits enrollment (health insurance, income support), on-site counseling, therapy, support groups, and assistance with emotional well-being and relationship challenges, life skills development to foster independence, community reintegration through social activities and connections, transportation and accompaniment services, and additional support to achieve long-term housing stability. These services are crucial in promoting the well-being, empowerment, and resilience of our participants—strengthening the broader community in the process.
Requirements
- Food Handler Certification
- BLS/CPR Certification
Responsibilities
- Welcome and orient new participants to the facility and program expectations
- Assist with participant transitions, including exits and room changes
- Monitor participant activities in common areas and sleeping quarters
- Provide basic guidance and emotional support while maintaining professional boundaries
- Encourage participation in chores, programming, and supportive services
- Maintain a drug, alcohol and violence-free living environment
- Educate and consistently enforce program policies and procedures
- Conduct hourly wellness and safety checks throughout the facility
- Promptly report compliance concerns, behavioral incidents, or safety risks to supervisors
- Respond to medical emergencies, administer First Aid/CPR, and follow established protocols
- Maintain accurate and timely shift documentation, including incident reports and participant observations
- Light housekeeping
- Support inventory tracking, supply distribution, and basic room inspections
