About The Position

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a motivated leader to fill the Substance Abuse Treatment Coordinator position. This position is responsible for overseeing the agency’s substance abuse programs and developing a plan to increase the substance abuse treatment capacity.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree from an accredited school
  • Three (3) or more years of progressive managerial experience
  • Experience with corrections or ADCRR policies and procedures
  • Counseling licenses from the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners

Responsibilities

  • Develops and monitors the Substance Abuse Treatment Capacity Plan to increase substance abuse services
  • Works with ADCRR, private prisons, and substance abuse contractors to deploy and maintain the Substance Abuse Capacity Plan
  • Develops and maintains spreadsheets
  • Monitors all reports related to capacity issues
  • Develops statistical reports and measurements to ensure compliance with the Substance Abuse Capacity Plan
  • Ensures compliance with program metrics
  • Ensures Arizona Correctional Information System (ACIS) reports are accurate
  • Coordinates with operations to resolve facility and movement issues
  • Works with the Office of Continuous Improvement (OCI) for continuous improvement and problem-solving meetings
  • Completes root-cause analysis, processes mapping, and utilizes LEAN principles
  • Works with Human Resources (HR) and the Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) to develop strategic plans for hiring substance abuse counselors
  • Participates in recruitment activities
  • Attends and facilitates huddle board meetings, business reviews, and problem-solving meetings
  • Meets with community vendors to increase the amount of substance abuse contractors
  • Develops and recommends policy and process improvements
  • Reviews policies to ensure current practices are accurately reflected
  • Ensures clinical supervision is in accordance with Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (ABBHE) standards
  • Ensures programs are provided in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Plans and coordinates meetings
  • Administers evaluations and manages schedules
  • Drives on State business
  • Perform other duties appropriate to the assignment
