About The Position

The Utah Division of Child & Family Services (DCFS) is seeking a Program Administrator I to assist in administering policies, programs, operations, and related matters within the assigned region. This position works under the general direction of the Regional Director and serves as a manager over community services within the region. The incumbent will plan, direct, and evaluate programs, assist in budgeting, supervise staff, implement program strategies, evaluate program effectiveness, and support the agency’s regional objectives.

Requirements

  • Must hold a current license as a Social Service Worker, Certified Social Worker, or is licensed as a professional counselor or marriage and family therapist; or who has an active licensure in the State of Utah as a Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist or Professional Counselor (LCSW License).
  • Knowledge of principles, theories, and practices of personnel/human resource management.
  • Understanding of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to establish objectives, develop strategies, and direct program operations effectively.
  • Knowledge of public relations principles and practices.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Experience developing and implementing new policies, procedures, standards, and regulations.
  • Must have a valid Utah driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates program activities, services, and/or program implementation with private providers, other governmental entities, or program users.
  • Represents the agency with federal, state, and local government units, in the media, or with private organizations.
  • Monitors agency or program budget including revenues, expenditures and budget projections.
  • Develops, directs, and/or evaluates programs.
  • Assist in budgeting
  • Supervise staff
  • Implement program strategies
  • Evaluate program effectiveness
  • Support the agency’s regional objectives.
