About The Position

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking a Program Administrator 2 to join their team. This role involves writing and implementing departmental goals, formulating and implementing medical program policies and procedures, managing work schedules, collecting and reporting data, supervising allied health contract staff, and managing the medical operation in the absence of the HCA. The position also handles information requests, investigates healthcare concerns, manages purchasing and procurement, oversees the business functions of the administrator's office, prepares and monitors budgets, processes timesheets and leave forms, handles bills for payment, manages medical inventory, purchases supplies and equipment, maintains fiscal and personnel records, interviews prospective employees, provides administrative supervision to clinical staff, ensures compliance with departmental policies, and provides administrative on-call support for the medical operation. Additionally, the role assists with coordination of medical care delivery, assumes administrative responsibility in the administrator's absence, performs public relations duties, works on special assignments, prepares reports and publications, and attends conferences and meetings.

Requirements

  • 4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. in business administration management science or public administration.
  • Completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management science or public administration; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position.
  • Completion of undergraduate core program in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position or staff position involving planning, research &/or policy/procedure development.
  • 1 yr. exp. as Program Administrator 1, 63122.

Responsibilities

  • Writes & implements departmental goals in conjunction with HCA plans
  • Formulates and implements medical program policies and procedures
  • Manages work schedules within medical operation
  • Collects & reports data & statistics for monthly reports
  • Supervises allied health contract staff
  • Manages medical operation, with the assistance of clinical exempt staff, in the HCA’s absence
  • Responds to information requests on behalf of HCA
  • Investigates & responds to inquiries about healthcare concerns raised by inmates, inmate families, & other interested parties
  • Manages purchasing, procurement, & monitoring of medical operation’s resources
  • Manages business functions of administrator’s office
  • Prepares & monitors budgets
  • Processes timesheets & leave forms
  • Processes bills for payment
  • Manages medical inventory
