About The Position

As a Profit Centre Manager, you will develop and lead all business operations at the Profit Centre. The Profit Centre Manager is accountable for growing the business while sustaining consistent profitability. To experience success in the position, you will lead by example and represent the Profit Centre in a professional manner, uphold our core values and ethics with every interaction, inspire teammates in the Profit Centre towards strategic initiatives and operational objectives, recruit, develop, coach, mentor and lead a world-class team, act like an entrepreneur to develop new strategies, market opportunities and business processes, build strong customer and vendor relationships, generously listen, communicate, collaborate and influence teammates, customers, and business partners, and act in a safe manner, following all safety guidelines at the Profit Centre and at all customer locations including job sites. Additional duties involve achieving sales, gross profit- and profit-sharing goals through the recruitment, development, training, coaching, evaluation, and management of the Profit Centre Team; determining targeted customer account potential, establishing sales goals for those accounts and holding the sales team accountable for achieving those goals; analyzing available financial reports and information; developing and implementing appropriate strategies to increase sales and margins, improve productivity and manage assets and expenses; building relationships in the community to understand the marketplace, increase market share and identify new markets; ensuring the Profit Centre meets or exceeds service expectations of customers; taking ownership of all marketing plans and purchasing agreements; understanding and following all safety regulations at all customer locations as well as at the Profit Centre; safeguarding and maintaining all Profit Centre assets – buildings, trucks, equipment, inventory, and receivables; and performing other tasks as requested by the Region or Division Manager.

Requirements

  • College and/or University degree
  • A minimum of 3 years of wholesale distribution experience
  • A minimum of 2 years in a management or leadership role
  • Valid driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software
  • Possess a strong work ethic and a high standard of integrity
  • Driven to succeed with a strong entrepreneurial spirit
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to make sound business judgments
  • Create and nurture a positive team environment, inspiring all teammates to do their best work and to achieve the highest levels of customer and teammate satisfaction
  • Strong desire to strive for operational excellence
  • Understand purchasing and inventory control processes
  • Ability to learn and operate the applicable software system used to process orders

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with or knowledge of products sold at the Profit Centre
  • Knowledge of the construction industry
  • Experience using M3
