About The Position

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Medicine, Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a highly skilled, board-eligible or board-certified Neurosurgeon to join our academic faculty. This position offers the opportunity to provide advanced neurosurgical care in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment while contributing to education, research, and innovation. The successful candidate will work alongside nationally recognized faculty, participate in resident and medical student education, and help advance the department's clinical, academic, and research missions.

Requirements

Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or equivalent.
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Neurosurgery Residency (or equivalent training).
Board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS) or equivalent.
Eligible for or currently licensed to practice medicine in the State of Arkansas.
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in patient care and academic medicine.
Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

Fellowship training in a neurosurgical subspecialty (as applicable).
Experience in an academic medical center.
Strong clinical and surgical skills across a broad range of neurosurgical procedures.
Record of clinical, translational, or basic science research.
Peer-reviewed publications and scholarly presentations.
Experience teaching medical students, residents, or fellows.
Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient neurosurgical care.
Perform a broad range of neurosurgical procedures within area(s) of expertise.
Participate in the department's neurosurgery call schedule.
Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients with neurosurgical conditions.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and other learners.
Participate in clinical, translational, or basic science research.
Contribute to scholarly activities, including peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
Participate in departmental quality improvement, academic, and administrative initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
