About The Position

This is a new position for a Regular Part-Time Professor in the Faculty of Arts, Department of Visual Arts. The course is ART5063, Independent Studio, for the 2026 Spring-Summer Semester. This is a bilingual, co-taught, in-person course. The course involves self-directed studio practice under professor guidance, with project proposals needing approval at the start of the session and completed projects presented to a jury at the end. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. The offered rate is $239.47 per hour for teaching, which does not include vacation or statutory pay and will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified. Requirements

Master of Fine Arts or equivalent.
Established reputation and exhibition record in contemporary art.
Teaching experience at the graduate level.
Active bilingualism (English and French).
Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training.
Ability to apply using the worker profile in Workday if currently an active employee.

Responsibilities

Provide guidance for self-directed studio practice.
Approve student project proposals at the beginning of the session.
Supervise the completion of student projects.
Present completed projects to a jury of regular professors at the end of the session.
Co-teach the course.
