About The Position

The Alfiero School of Business invites applications for a full-time Professor of Practice position in Marketing. This teaching-focused position is intended for an experienced marketing professional and educator who can connect academic concepts with current industry practice and help prepare students for careers in business, marketing, sales, analytics, digital media, and related fields. The successful candidate must possess an earned MBA or closely related master's degree at the time of hire; preference given to candidates with a Ph.D., D.B.A., or other terminal degree in Marketing. Significant professional experience in marketing, advertising, sales, digital marketing, analytics, brand management, or related business fields is strongly preferred. Prior teaching, training, mentoring, or supervisory experience is also desirable. The successful candidate will support undergraduate and/or graduate instruction, advise and mentor students, contribute to curriculum development, and help bridge classroom learning with contemporary business practice through applied projects, experiential learning opportunities, and industry engagement.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Marketing, Business, or a closely related field.
  • Professional experience in marketing, sales, digital marketing, analytics, branding, customer relationship management, market research, or a related area.
  • Demonstrated ability or strong potential to teach undergraduate and/or graduate marketing courses.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student-centered teaching, advising, and mentoring.
  • Ability to connect marketing theory with real-world business practice.
  • Willingness and ability to teach in a variety of instructional formats, including face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D., D.B.A., or other terminal degree in Marketing, Business, or a closely related field.
  • Prior college-level teaching experience.
  • Significant professional or leadership experience in marketing or a related business field.
  • Experience with digital marketing tools, marketing analytics platforms, CRM systems, social media strategy, sales management, or brand strategy.
  • Experience developing applied learning projects, industry partnerships, internships, or experiential learning opportunities.
  • Experience working with diverse learners and a demonstrated commitment to inclusive teaching practices.
  • Evidence of professional engagement, applied scholarship, or pedagogical innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a range of marketing courses, including Principles of Marketing, E-Commerce, Marketing Planning and Strategy, Customer Relationship Management, Brand Management and Strategy, Marketing Management, Marketing Analytics, International Marketing / Global Markets, Sales Strategies, Social Media Marketing, Sport Marketing, Marketing Research, and Promotional Strategy.
  • Provide academic advising and mentoring to students.
  • Participate in departmental and university service.
  • Support curriculum development and assessment.
  • Contribute to student engagement and career readiness initiatives.
  • Teach in face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online formats based on departmental needs.
  • Remain professionally engaged in the marketing discipline and contribute to the department through applied practice, curriculum innovation, industry connections, student mentorship, and service.
  • Maintain current knowledge of marketing trends, tools, and practices.
  • Participate in professional associations or industry events.
  • Develop applied projects, case studies, simulations, or experiential learning opportunities.
  • Build relationships with employers, alumni, or community partners.
  • Support internships, career development, student competitions, or client-based projects.
  • Present at professional or academic conferences, where appropriate.
  • Produce applied, pedagogical, or professional scholarship, where appropriate.
