About The Position

The Freeman School of Business at Tulane University is seeking to fill a full-time, non-tenure system faculty position in Finance. The appointment, at the rank of Professor of Practice, is for three years, commencing July 1, 2027. The salary, teaching load, and benefits are competitive with those at other leading research institutions. Hiring for this role is contingent upon final budgetary approval from the University. Professors of Practice and Lecturers at the Freeman School are responsible for delivering rigorous undergraduate and graduate courses, often incorporating experiential learning. They are also expected to maintain active engagement in their respective fields through professional and scholarly pursuits. Service to the Finance Area, the Freeman School, and Tulane University is also anticipated.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Finance or a related field and a substantial record of recent professional experience (professionally qualified).
  • Ph.D. in Finance and actively engaged in scholarly and/or professional engagement activities (academically qualified).
  • Ability to teach a wide breadth of undergraduate and graduate finance courses.
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching.
  • Ability to build relationships with industry partners.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver rigorous undergraduate and graduate courses, often with an experiential learning focus.
  • Remain active in their fields through professional and scholarly activities.
  • Provide service to the Finance Area, the Freeman School, and Tulane University.
