About The Position

North Park University, a Christian university affiliated with the Evangelical Covenant Church, is seeking a Faculty - Professor of Nursing (Open Track/Open Rank). This 12-month, open-rank position is based on experience, certification, and education, and includes benefits and a competitive salary. The Direct Entry MSN (DEMSN) faculty reports to the DEMSN Program Director and collaborates with the faculty of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Graduate Programs to ensure alignment with the AACN Essentials. The university's mission is to prepare students for lives of significance and service through education in the liberal arts, professional studies, and theology. Requirements

  • A minimum of a master's degree in nursing.
  • Two years or more professional RN practice experience in adult health/leadership.
  • Active, unencumbered RN Illinois license before the first day of work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Teams, Outlook, and PPT.
  • Committed to and an articulate supporter of the university’s mission, identity, and Christian faith commitment.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Evidence of commitment to scholarship and service in the school, university, and community.
  • Strong writing, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Commitment to modeling professional comportment in the classroom, simulation, and clinical settings.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate (DNP, PhD, DNSc.).
  • Experience in teaching pre-licensure and/or graduate-level nursing students.
  • Experience with teaching in a Concept-Based Curriculum.
  • Experience using Canvas Learning Management System.
  • Course development and academic quality improvement experience.
  • Self-directed, curious, and innovative nurse educator.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
  • Experience using ATI.

Responsibilities

  • Course development, classroom/hybrid/clinical teaching, and student advising to advance student success in the DEMSN program.
  • Collaborate to support student success.
  • Teach a course load of a minimum of 12 semester hours in the SNHS, primarily in the DEMSN program.
  • Advise DEMSN students.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality improvement.
  • Complete onboarding learning activities in Concept-Based Nursing Education.
  • Participate in new student orientation as assigned.
  • Analyze and use student academic data to support student success.
  • Analyze course outcomes to promote program success.
  • Attend DEMSN and SNHS faculty & committee meetings.
  • Attend full-faculty meetings.
  • University, program, and school committee service.
  • Attend professional development activities on campus.
  • Attend commencement and other student activities as assigned.
