About The Position

The Department of Radiation Oncology of the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking a full-time radiation oncologist to work within the University of Colorado Health System, with the primary sites of practice at Memorial Health Central and Memorial North in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The successful candidate will join a division within the department that includes 6 physicians and 2 advanced practice faculty who participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and clinical research as a member of the University of Colorado Cancer Center. The primary clinical focus will be breast cancer; additional expertise in the care of gynecological cancer patients is preferred. This position requires the completion of an accredited residency in radiation oncology. Applicants must be able to obtain licensure for the practice of medicine within the State of Colorado, prescriptive authority and obtain privileges at our participating hospitals.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited radiation oncology residency.
  • ABR Board Eligibility at the date of hire (for Assistant Professor).
  • ABR Board Certification (for Associate Professor and Professor).
  • 5+ years of post-residency clinical experience (for Associate Professor).
  • 7 years of post residency clinical experience (for Professor).
  • Ability to obtain licensure for the practice of medicine within the State of Colorado.
  • Ability to obtain prescriptive authority.
  • Ability to obtain privileges at participating hospitals.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional expertise in the care of gynecological cancer patients.
  • Post-residency clinical experience at an academic medical center.
  • Experience in treatment of breast and gynecologic malignances.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards.
  • Participate in clinical research.

  • Engage in general radiation oncology clinical cross-coverage.
