The Webb School of Engineering at High Point University seeks a full-time, open-rank Mechanical Engineering faculty member to teach courses in manufacturing, mechanical design, and vibrations, beginning August 2027. High Point University launched new Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics majors in Fall 2024 and opened a state-of-the-art Makerspace and Machine Shop in Fall 2026. The university seeks a creative, dynamic individual to play a critical role in the development of innovative, active learning classes and laboratories, and to mentor highly motivated students in undergraduate research projects and design competitions. The successful candidate will teach a variety of courses within the Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics programs. Additional expectations include academic advising, supporting undergraduate research, assisting the department with ABET accreditation, and serving on college and university-wide committees. Faculty appointments are for a nine-month contract period with a normal teaching load of 12 credit hours per semester.
