About The Position

The Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics (ISBA) in the Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University is seeking a tenured Professor of Information Systems and Business Analytics. This position includes an endowed chair for a distinguished candidate with an exceptional record of research excellence and leadership. The successful candidate will maintain an active, high-quality research program, demonstrate teaching effectiveness, provide leadership in advancing the department's reputation, and fulfill service expectations. The role involves conducting high-impact scholarly research for leading MIS journals, mentoring Ph.D. students, and teaching ISBA-related courses at various levels. The position holder is expected to play a key role in enhancing the department's national and international standing in ISBA research and education through collaboration, mentorship, and leadership. Typical institutional and professional service for the rank of Professor is also expected. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship, as immigration sponsorship is not available.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in MIS or a closely related field.
  • An outstanding record of scholarship, eligible for a tenured position at Iowa State University.
  • An established and active record of publishing research in top-tier IS journals such as Information Systems Research, Management Information Systems Quarterly, and The Journal of Management Information Systems.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an active, high-quality research program that contributes to leading journals in MIS and related fields.
  • Conduct high-impact scholarly research suitable for publication in leading MIS journals such as Information Systems Research, Management Information Systems Quarterly, and The Journal of Management Information Systems.
  • Contribute to mentoring Ph.D. students.
  • Teach ISBA-related courses at the Ph.D. level, as well as undergraduate or Master's levels.
  • Play a key role in advancing the department's research reputation through collaboration, mentorship, and leadership.
  • Fulfill normal service expectations for the rank of Professor, including typical institutional and professional service.
