About The Position

AECOM is seeking an Air Quality Professional with expertise in industrial projects (mining, petrochemical, manufacturing, chemical industry), road (roads, bridges, civil structures), transportation (ports, airports, rail), and municipal sectors. This is a full-time position in Montreal. The general objectives of this position are to participate within AECOM's diverse teams in industrial, municipal, transportation, and construction projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in science or engineering (or any related field) in the environmental domain
  • 2 years of environmental experience in industrial (light, heavy), mining, manufacturing, construction, and transportation sectors
  • Consulting experience within an engineering consulting firm or as an environmental representative in industry
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 14 064, PAS 2080, GHG Protocol, SbTI standards.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in the regulatory framework applicable to air quality and industrial emissions, INRP, RDOCECA;
  • Technical knowledge in GHG quantification, development of decarbonization measures, and net-zero plans;
  • Knowledge of the LQE and REAFIE;
  • Excellent communication skills, including report writing, oral presentations, and direct verbal communication (French and English)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Autonomy, initiative, and intellectual rigor
  • Valid driver's license
  • Proficiency in common office software, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project

Nice To Haves

  • 6 years or more of experience
  • Master's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related environmental field
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
  • Recognized experience in environmental project coordination
  • Training or certification according to ISO 14064, SASB, FSA, GRI standards
  • Demonstrated experience and training with atmospheric modeling tools (Aermod, Calpuff, Python, etc.)
  • Experience in writing Environmental-Social-Governance (ESG) reports and declarations, sustainable development
  • ASP certification (Construction Site Health and Safety Course)

Responsibilities

  • Conducting sectoral studies (air quality, industrial hygiene, waste materials, sustainable development) in their area of expertise within the framework of environmental impact assessments (provincial, federal);
  • Supporting the development of greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories, decarbonization strategies, life cycle analysis, and net-zero plans according to recognized standards (ISO 14 064, GHG Protocol, PAS 2080, SACC);
  • Participating in the preparation of environmental permit or ministerial authorization applications (municipal, provincial, federal);
  • Supporting field studies, analyses, and sampling required for various mandates;
  • Conducting studies, reports, technical notes, opinions, and procedures in the environmental field for a diverse clientele;
  • Collaborating with the management team in developing service proposals for tenders in Canada, Quebec, and internationally;
  • Conducting training sessions or workshops to raise client awareness or train them in their area of expertise;
  • Participating in the drafting of service proposals in their area of expertise;
  • Participating in the development of technical approaches for assigned mandates.
