Andritz Canada - Hydro Division offers a fall internship within its on-site engineering teams for hydroelectric projects, including projects of small, medium, and large complexity. This internship will allow you to apply your academic knowledge within a leading company in the hydroelectric field. You will have the opportunity to work on innovative and complex projects, collaborating with seasoned experts. The practical field experience offered during the internship will contribute to the development of your mechanical design skills and your understanding of engineering processes.

Requirements

  • Student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Passion for quality and integrity.
  • General knowledge of dimensional mechanical measuring equipment.
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel).
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Autonomy, initiative, resourcefulness, rigor.
  • Ability to perform data analysis.
  • Willingness to travel and flexibility in work schedule.
  • Legal status to work in Canada is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of CAD software is an asset.
  • Operation of 3D measuring instruments is an asset.
  • Previous training in safety and construction sites is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Implementation and maintenance of the Andritz quality assurance system on site.
  • Compliance with on-site quality requirements according to installation manual specifications.
  • Local contact with the client and quality control bodies.
  • Monitoring of inspections according to the various Inspection and Test Plans (ITP/RTP).
  • Reception of materials on site and maintenance in the inventory system.
  • Perform and/or witness inspections in collaboration with the client and the on-site team.
  • Report site non-conformities and follow up.
  • Collect quality documents and develop final quality documentation.
  • Support installation supervisors to ensure work is performed in accordance with installation manual and drawing requirements.
  • Contribute to the quality and overall excellence of custom-designed machinery projects.
