About The Position

This role involves assisting public sector customers in designing and architecting scalable, highly available application solutions that leverage AWS services. The position requires working as a technical leader alongside customer business, development, and infrastructure teams, providing deep software development knowledge related to cloud architecture, design patterns, and programming. A key aspect of the role is implementing DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code, continuous integration, and automated deployment. Domestic travel up to 20% may be required.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems or related field and 3 year(s) of experience in job offered or a related occupation.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems or related field followed by 5 year(s) of progressively responsible experience in job offered or a related occupation as equivalent to a software engineering, systems engineering, or related IT experience.
  • 3 years of experience in large-scale software development or application engineering with coding experience in one of the following languages: Java, JavaScript.
  • 2 years of experience using SQL/DB2.
  • 2 years of experience in Agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing applications that run natively in the cloud and build programs that run on any number of platforms including virtualized instances, containers, or serverless architecture.
  • Help public sector customers architect scalable, highly available application solutions that leverage AWS services.
  • Architect and develop customer applications to be cloud optimized.
  • Work as a technical leader alongside customer business, development and infrastructure teams.
  • Provide deep software development knowledge with respect cloud architecture, design patterns and programming.
  • Implement DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code, continuous integration and automated deployment.
