About The Position

The Professional Learning Manager is a full-time, exempt role that reports to the Director of Professional Learning in the Professional Learning department. The Professional Learning Manager leads the development and delivery of high-quality professional learning experiences that support educators implementing CPM’s mathematics curriculum and instructional resources. This role ensures that professional learning is grounded in research-based mathematics pedagogy, aligned with the organization’s mission, and responsive to the needs of teachers, instructional leaders, and school systems. The Manager collaborates across department teams to translate curriculum materials into effective classroom practice. They oversee professional learning programs—including learning events, coaching, webinars, and implementation support to help educators deepen mathematical understanding, strengthen instructional practice, and successfully implement the organization’s commitment to bringing a classroom solution. This role carries supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a learning and development manager, trainer, or educator, with a focus on motivating high-performing teams to exceed delivery goals.
  • Exceptional presentation, communication, and project management skills.
  • Deep understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning techniques.
  • Experience with monitoring data and facilitating change adjusting to the results provided.
  • Experience designing and implementing strategies to manage complex change while supporting team engagement and development.
  • High level of integrity, industriousness, and passion for transforming education.
  • Exceptional time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Ability to communicate successfully when collaborating with coworkers.
  • Ability to take written and/or verbal instruction.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace.
  • Knowledge of basic office equipment should include: Internet, email, telephone, and computers.
  • Ability to learn to use unfamiliar software.
  • A current driver’s license and proof of auto insurance are required if driving for work.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive professional learning strategy that supports effective use of CPM’s mathematics curriculum.
  • Ensure professional learning aligns with research-based math instruction and adult learning principles, equitable teaching practices, and the organization’s mission.
  • Ensure professional learning reflects the intent of instructional materials.
  • Establish frameworks for ongoing learning, coaching, and professional growth for customers.
  • Manage a leadership team and support a larger team of professional learning facilitators, consultants, or coaches.
  • Identify professional learning priorities across teams and projects.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams to align messaging and educator support.
  • Contribute educator insights to improve curriculum revisions and future publications.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and implement a strategy for professional growth for the Professional Learning department.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success Managers to support districts and schools implementing the organization’s math curriculum through onboarding and follow-up learning opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of team members’ strengths, skills, and growth areas in order to strategically deploy talent, optimize support strategies, and drive successful execution of key professional learning initiatives.
  • Develop systems to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of professional learning programs.
  • Analyze and respond to educator feedback, classroom implementation data, and survey responses to refine professional learning design and delivery.
  • Ensure there are systems to track participation, learning outcomes, and organizational impact.
  • Ensure alignment with strategic goals and coherence across professional learning initiatives.
  • Maintain current knowledge of effective mathematics teaching practices and how to support educators in translating curriculum design into classroom instruction.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Success team to coordinate scheduling, logistics, and budgeting for professional learning programs.
  • Manage external facilitators, consultants, and partnerships as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.
  • Support conference presentations, educator institutes, and outreach events.
  • Additional responsibilities aligned with the needs of the organization.
