With no direct supervision, provides very complex specialized services and support to department, office, or program. This role provides support services during non-class/open lab times for Fashion Design courses and programs, including instruction, lab setup, and lab safety for the Fashion Design department. The assistant communicates with instructors to monitor student attendance and participation during lab time, serves as a communications liaison for Fashion Design courses and programs, and provides information regarding course and program offerings. They assist students attending lab as needed to support student progress and comprehension of coursework, maintain lab cleanliness, ensure students follow the Code of Conduct specific to Fashion Design, and ensure all equipment is in running condition and turned off at the end of lab sessions. The assistant also secures all student work in appropriate cabinets and spaces and safely secures the classroom at the end of lab time.
