Louisiana Tech University seeks applicants for a Professional-in-Residence (PIR) faculty position in the Chemical Engineering program. This is a 10-month, non-tenure track position with a desired start time of September 1, 2026. Appointments are for one year and are renewed annually upon satisfactory performance. The successful candidate will manage a two-story, 3,400-square foot teaching lab that houses process control systems, distillation columns, heat exchangers, fluid flow and pumping equipment, evaporation, absorption, and drying systems, reactors, and lab-scale paper production line. Traditionally, the PIR teaches one class per 11-week academic quarter for three quarters per year. These classes are Junior Laboratory, Senior Laboratory, and Process Safety in the Chemical Industry. Louisiana Tech University is recognized as a Tier 1 National University by U.S. News & World Report, emphasizing cutting-edge research and innovation to provide students with hands-on learning experiences. The Chemical Engineering program, accredited by ABET, has an undergraduate enrollment of approximately 200 students. The University campus is in Ruston in north central Louisiana, offering centralized access to larger metropolitan areas in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi.
