About The Position

The Office of Undergraduate and International Programs in the Culverhouse College of Business is seeking a Professional Development Coach and Kelly LEAD Instructor. This position appointment will begin on August 16, 2026. Primary responsibilities will include teaching across the Kelly LEAD Professional Development courses, small-group professional coaching and mentoring on Kelly LEAD professional competencies, and ongoing activities related to the Kelly LEAD Program. This position is housed within the Office of Undergraduate Programs in the Culverhouse College of Business at The University of Alabama, to serve the R. James Kelly LEAD Professional Development Program required for all Culverhouse undergraduates. Broadly speaking the role entails four aspects, namely, (a) teaching our GBA Professional Development sequence courses which are 1-credit hour and focus on Kelly LEAD competencies for freshmen (GBA 146), sophomores (GBA 246), juniors (GBA 346), and transfer students (2-credit, GBA 247), (b) professional coaching and mentoring on Kelly LEAD competencies, which involves developing, delivering, and assessing group coaching programs that occur throughout the academic year, (c) conducting individual professional mentoring sessions with students on an ongoing basis, and (d) associated with the summer stipend is an expectation that your work relates to your role as a Kelly LEAD coach and a member of the Kelly LEAD team. Potential activities related to the stipend may include but are not limited to corporate relationships development, coach/mentoring program assessment/revision/reporting, and new coach/mentoring program development (for in-person and/or distance modalities). In addition, summer will also involve administrative activities associated with one or more aspects of the Kelly LEAD program, including internship coordination, PD course sequence curriculum revision, and PD course instructor training. Workload assignments may change if the unit’s needs vary.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in business or related field.
  • At least 5 years of corporate or organizational experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching GBA Professional Development sequence courses (GBA 146, GBA 246, GBA 346, GBA 247).
  • Providing small-group professional coaching and mentoring on Kelly LEAD professional competencies.
  • Developing, delivering, and assessing group coaching programs.
  • Conducting individual professional mentoring sessions with students.
  • Engaging in activities related to the Kelly LEAD Program, such as corporate relationships development, program assessment/revision/reporting, and new program development.
  • Performing administrative activities related to the Kelly LEAD program, including internship coordination, curriculum revision, and instructor training.
