About The Position
This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position for the course SOC2504 A00, 'Genre et société', during the Fall 2026 semester at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Social Sciences, School of Sociological and Anthropological Studies. The course provides an introduction to feminist, queer, and anti-racist theories concerning the social construction of gender and its use in shaping other social institutions like politics, education, health, work, and families. It will examine the social construction of the gendered division of labor, particularly since industrialization, with Canadian and Quebec examples. The position is limited to regular part-time professors.
Requirements
- Hold a Master's degree in sociology or an advanced degree in sociology.
- Demonstrate expertise in the field of gender and society, evidenced by teaching identical or similar courses or by publications in this field.
- An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
Nice To Haves
- Competence in a second language (passive).
Responsibilities
- Teach the course 'Genre et société' (SOC2504 A00).
- Deliver instruction in French.
- Conduct classes on Mondays from 11:30 to 13:00 and Thursdays from 13:00 to 14:30, in person.
