About The Position

This is a new position for a Regular Part-Time Professor in the Department of History within the Faculty of Arts for the Winter 2027 semester. The course, HIS4797-B00, is a seminar in European History focusing on the Spanish Civil War within its international and transnational context. The seminar will examine the Spanish Civil War as a symptom of the broader crisis of the post-Versailles international order. The course structure includes an initial contextual presentation by the professor, followed by student-led presentations and debates on weekly readings. The final research paper requires students to explore a specific theme from an innovative perspective, grounded in historiography and supported by primary and secondary sources. The course is taught in French, with passive competence in a second language required. The mode of instruction is in-person.

Requirements

Have completed the doctoral oral examination in a relevant field.
Active research program in the field.
Competence in French (language of instruction).
Passive competence in a second language.

Responsibilities

Provide a contextual presentation at the beginning of the course.

Teach the course in French.
