About The Position

This course, FRA1750 Section A, is a survey of the most important texts on Canada from Jacques Cartier to the present day, covering Lower Canadian and Quebec literature and culture. It also explores the evolution of minority literatures (Francophone Ontario, Acadia) and First Nations literature. The course is offered in French and is scheduled for Tuesdays from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM and Thursdays from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM. The expected enrollment is 60 students, and it is a 3-credit course. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. The hourly rate for teaching is $239.47 (2024-2025), which does not include vacation or statutory pay. These rates are applicable until a new collective agreement is ratified, with retroactive pay provided after ratification. The course is offered in person.

Requirements

  • Doctorat en lettres françaises
  • Have already taught at least one literature course
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
