About The Position

This role involves setting up, adjusting, maintaining, and configuring processing equipment according to assigned specifications. It requires regular communication with production personnel and supervisors, and the completion of required paperwork. The Production Worker is responsible for ensuring all support equipment is operational, performing visual inspections and documentation during production runs to ensure defect-free work, and loading materials into appropriate machines. They will also perform minor package change-overs, preventative maintenance, and assist line mechanics. Ensuring equipment is functioning properly before starting a run, verifying product codes and graphics, and monitoring the machine during operation are key duties. The role also includes clearing jams, reporting defects, verifying product flavor and size, and cleaning the work area. Adherence to work rules, GMP compliance, and reporting quality issues are mandatory. The position may also involve relieving other operators and shutting down equipment at the end of a shift or run.

Requirements

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common information, reports and other documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or company representatives.
Ability to effectively present information to management.
High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience required.
Must be 18 years or older.
Favorable background and drug test.
Able and willing to work a flexible Full Time schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
Must be able to provide own transportation to various locations in organizational service areas, as required by duties.

Prior bottling / canning experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Turns on all support equipment necessary to run the facility as needed.
Performs visual inspections and completes documentation during the run to ensure defect-free work.
Loads corrugate, labels, bottles/cans, glue, carriers etc. into appropriate machines.
Performs minor package change-overs on equipment as required, as well as change-over to proper raw material.
Performs preventative maintenance on equipment with regards to cleaning and clearing them of debris and materials.
Assists line mechanics in machinery repair or other tasks as/if needed.
Ensures that all equipment is on and functioning properly prior to starting a run (e.g., air is on, all conveyors are on).
Performs visual inspection of boxes to ensure proper box/tray is used and the graphics on the box/tray are acceptable.
Monitors the flow of materials (e.g., Cans/bottles/boxes/trays) into the appropriate machine and clears jams if necessary.
Ensures proper coding is on the bottle, cans, boxes/trays, and if applicable, the graphics are acceptable.
Ensures closures and lids are properly applied.
Verifies flavor and size according to schedule.
Reports any major defects to the Lead person and/or Manager.
Monitors the machine while running and checks to see that all bottles, cans are packed into the box correctly.
Fills glue pots as necessary.
Verifies case code is correct as scheduled.
Clears machine of all products at the end of each run and at the end of the shift.
Follows work rules and adheres to GMP compliance at all times.
Reports any quality issue to the Lead person, QA Technician and/or Manager.
Assists in relieving other operators for lunch breaks.
Keeps work area clean at all times.
Shuts down all equipment at the end of the shift if the line is going down for the day.
Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
