About The Position

Under general supervision, work on the production line to build manufactured housing, as part of a team, and perform quality work in a fast-moving and consistent manner. This role involves performing all manual labor in the assigned area, specifically focusing on roofing, sheeting, soffit, facia, siding, windows, and doors within the Exteriors Department. The position requires maintaining a neat and clean work area, reading and using a tape measure, interpreting blueprints and orders, communicating effectively with coworkers, and utilizing hand tools, air tools, and electrical tools.

Requirements

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have a strong work ethic.
Must have the ability to work quickly and methodically.
Must understand safety procedures.
Must have good teamwork skills.
Must live the Champion Operating Principles.
Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Frequently required to walk, climb, or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to pass a 7 Panel Drug Screen.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in manufacturing/modular housing is desired.
