About The Position

Performs a wide variety of entry to mid-level electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies, sub-assemblies, or finished goods. Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, minor basic soldering, component installation, and cable harnesses on unit assemblies utilizing prescribed guidelines, procedures, work orders, or supervisory direction. Adheres to standardized methods. Reads and interprets assembly drawings, BOM’s, process sheets and routings. Make simple fits using hand and power tools. Make adjustment or alignment of parts for operating capability utilizing go-no go gauges. Make simple tests of completed unit following prescribed procedures and limits of acceptance. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree preferred or minimum of 3 months of related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to basic routing instructions or work orders.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to add or subtract whole numbers.
  • Ability to use fixed gauges, reading instruments and similar devices required.
  • Follow established policies and procedures as outlined in the Company’s Quality Manual and associated documents.
  • Participate in quality assurance and business improvement activities, including training and improvement projects as defined by the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble light weight products, kits, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies to medium weight products i.e., coffee, beverage, juice, and final assemblies.
  • Responsible to process production entries.
  • Operate small hand, air, and electric tools.
  • Set up and adjust equipment as necessary.
  • Inspect and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Perform special projects; prototypes, initial production runs.
  • Pack assembled products.
  • Train and inspect work of lower level assemblers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems to maintain product quality standards.
  • Utilize computers as necessary to print labels, instruction sheets, etc.
  • Adhere and or resize kanban instructions and 5-S’s framework.
  • Move material to designated area when complete.
  • Suggest product improvement using 80/20.
  • Responsible for ordering parts as necessary via traveler.
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned.
  • Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition to ensure own safety and the safety of others.
  • Other duties as assigned.
