About The Position
The Production Test Engineer tests and troubleshoots high-voltage power supplies and electronic subassemblies to the component level. The role requires strong knowledge of electronic circuitry and experience with a variety of testing methods and tools. The engineer works independently and communicates directly with Production Management and Manufacturing Engineering to support continual improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Technology, or equivalent, plus 2 years of experience testing and troubleshooting electronic assemblies; alternatively, a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Knowledge of electronic circuitry.
- Experience with a variety of testing methods and tools.
Responsibilities
- Test and calibrate high-voltage power supplies to ensure completed units meet customer performance and safety specifications.
- Troubleshoot and repair high-voltage power supplies.
- Record functional data during testing phases and analyze results for test validity and design improvements.
- Work with Design Engineering on technical issues and recommend changes to ATPs and test methods for new, existing, and development products.
- Assist in developing ATPs, test fixtures, and test loads.
- Participate in failure analysis to determine root causes.
- Assist B and C technicians with troubleshooting when required.
- Assist with other department activities as required.
- May participate in new product introductions.
