About The Position
The Production Test Engineer 3 tests and troubleshoots a variety of high-voltage power supplies and electronic subassemblies to the component level. The role requires strong knowledge of electronic circuitry and experience with various testing methods and tools. The engineer works independently and communicates directly with Production Management and Manufacturing Engineering to support continual improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Technology, or equivalent, plus 2 years of experience testing and troubleshooting electronic assemblies; or a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Knowledge of electronic circuitry.
- Experience with a variety of testing methods and tools.
Responsibilities
- Test and calibrate high-voltage power supplies to ensure completed units meet customer performance and safety specifications.
- Troubleshoot and repair high-voltage power supplies.
- Record functional data during testing phases and analyze results for test validity and potential design improvements.
- Work with design engineering on technical issues and recommend changes to ATPs and test methods for new, existing, and development products.
- Assist in developing ATPs, test fixtures, and test loads.
- Participate in failure analysis to determine root causes.
- Assist B and C technicians with troubleshooting when required.
- Assist with other department activities as required.
- May participate in new product introductions.
