About The Position

This position is responsible for performing machine and systems troubleshooting and repair, assisting with the specification, installation, and modification of integrated systems. The technician will conduct diagnostic checks on automated equipment, isolate problems, and make repairs utilizing a variety of skill sets including controls, electrical, general mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding. The role also involves completing shift paperwork, performing preventive maintenance, understanding machine specifications, conducting changeovers, filling component hoppers, pulling inspection test samples, troubleshooting on assigned stations, updating production boards, processing warehouse orders, submitting repair tags, performing Team Operator functions when required, and assisting with training new technicians. The technician must maintain 5S standards, model company values, and support strategic initiatives. Additionally, the role requires ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, standards, and company procedures, and actively participating in Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma, or GED required.
  • Up to 3 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Proficiency in multiple skill clusters, including electronics, mechanical systems and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of tools and components used in the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in troubleshooting simple to complex motor control relays, contactors, and jog circuits.
  • Automated and semi-automated machinery and process knowledge.
  • Sound judgment in the execution of technical/troubleshooting issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills to facilitate communication at various levels and areas within the organization.
  • Understanding of computers and computerized controls.
  • Ability to learn new technologies; understand and perform continuous improvement activities.

  • Technical school background desirable.
  • Previous experience with automated and semi-automated equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform machine and systems troubleshooting and repair.
  • Assist with the specification, installation, and modification of integrated systems.
  • Perform diagnostic checks on automated equipment and isolate problems.
  • Make repairs to production equipment utilizing various skill sets (Controls, drawings, electrical, general mechanics, hand tools, hydraulics, machine shop, piping systems, pneumatics, and welding).
  • Complete shift start-up paperwork (process parameter, traceability, start-up checklist).
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Understand machine MO, PC, WP, STM and Interim Specifications.
  • Perform changeovers, including line clearance of components and tooling changeouts.
  • Fill component hoppers and complete necessary traceability paperwork.
  • Pull inspection test samples and stage for QC Operator.
  • Engage in machine troubleshooting on all assigned stations.
  • Update hourly production boards with production and efficiency numbers.
  • Process warehouse ordering of components and pull tooling for changeovers.
  • Submit machine repair tags to identify issues requiring support services.
  • Perform all functions of a Team Operator when required.
  • Assist with training of new Technicians.
  • Maintain 5S standards in assigned work areas.
  • Model company values and support strategic initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
  • Assure compliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures.
  • Engage others; promote and participate in Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives, focusing on continuous improvement.
