About The Position

The Production Technician is responsible for safely handling customers’ cylinders in compliance with standard operating procedures. The role reports directly to the Area Lead and Plant/Department Manager. Training is provided to ensure a complete understanding of the position and department responsibilities. The position is based in Birmingham, Alabama, and pays $22.50 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Zero to one year of work experience.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend English.
• Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
• Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical exercises.
• Ability to work with people with a wide variety of personalities.
• Ability to work extended shifts and/or weekends.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
• Ability to roll or lift 75-pound cylinders.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Understand the hazards of various gases and the sizes and contents of cylinders.
• Properly inspect cylinders.
• Handle cylinders properly and safely.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and standards.
