About The Position

APAC-AL, Inc. is hiring an Electrician Trainee based in central Alabama who will cover the aggregates group throughout Alabama. The position installs and repairs electrical systems and components associated with industrial machinery and equipment in the aggregates industry, and maintains electrical systems at Ready Mix facilities and operations. The role requires a licensed electrician and involves working in facilities and around industrial equipment, with occasional exposure to weather extremes, moisture, moving mechanical parts, and moderate-to-loud noise.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two to three years of electrician experience.
• Certified and licensed electrician.
• Standard driver's license.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write correspondence; and present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group settings.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Basic understanding of computers and software related to electrician work.
• Ability to perform the physical duties described, including occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Install power-supply wiring and conduits for machines and equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctioning electrical apparatus, including transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, and replace damaged or broken wires and cables.
• Plan wiring layouts and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings and other Ready Mix facilities.
• Maintain electrical systems and components associated with Ready Mix facilities and operations.
