About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Production Technician for the 2nd shift (3:30pm - 12:00am) to work onsite. This role involves operating and maintaining various equipment in support of coating operations. The company is focused on transforming the future of flight and is looking for passionate individuals to join their team. The role requires adherence to instructions, assisting with process tryouts, and ensuring equipment operates properly through routine servicing and minor repairs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 years of machine shop experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • In compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, priority consideration is given to candidates who are INTERNAL (and recall) to the Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit members of District Lodge 26 and Affiliated Locals 700 and 1746 (Connecticut Operations).
  • Advanced math skills.
  • Proficient using calipers, and reading blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Work from verbal, written and electronically generated instructions to set up, adjust and operate a wide variety of manual and numerically controlled auxiliary equipment in support of coating operations, within assigned area.
  • Run manual and automated equipment, ovens and furnaces, media equipment cleaning operations and hole drilling equipment, where methods and processes are developed and closely controlled.
  • Assist others responsible for new parts process tryouts, run test pieces and re-operate rejected parts, following prescribed repair instructions.
  • Check work both visually and with gauges provided.
  • Assist others responsible for the setup, operation, changeovers and maintenance on a variety of complex coating equipment.
  • Perform masking and de-masking operations; assemble and remove parts into holding fixtures.
  • Clean out coating chambers during changeovers; clean and make minor repairs to fixturing, such as removing and replacing broken bolts or details.
  • Perform routine servicing throughout the assigned area following specified procedures and written instructions (such as operator’s checklist) for upkeep to ensure equipment operates properly.
  • Use a variety of mechanical and manual devices to control product and process configuration between operations.
