About The Position

Production Technician – Powder Coating is responsible for preparing, handling, and finishing metal components through the powder coating process. This role focuses on surface preparation, application support, curing, and quality inspection to ensure durable and consistent finishes that meet production standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience in powder coating, painting, or finishing processes in a manufacturing setting
• Familiarity with industrial coating equipment and safety procedures
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, specifications, and production schedules
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate to heavy materials as required

Responsibilities

• Prepare parts for coating through cleaning, masking, sanding, and pre-treatment processes
• Inspect coated parts for defects such as runs, thin coverage, contamination, or uneven finish
• Perform touch-ups and rework as needed to ensure product quality standards are met
• Monitor oven temperatures and cure times to ensure proper adhesion and durability
• Maintain accurate production records and report on any quality or equipment issues
• Follow all safety procedures, including PPE usage and chemical handling guidelines
• Assist with routine maintenance and cleaning of coating equipment and work areas
• Support continuous improvement efforts related to efficiency, quality, and waste reduction
