About The Position

Tokai Carbon is seeking dependable temporary Production Technicians to join their team at their Hickman, KY facility. This role begins as a temporary contract with the opportunity to transition into a full-time position based on business needs and performance. The position involves working alongside permanent staff, learning systems, and gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment. Structured performance check-ins will be provided. The role requires willingness to work varying shifts and involves working in conditions that can be hot, dusty, or dirty.

Requirements

Experience in a manufacturing role with the use of hand/power tools (experience in mechanical, electrical, automotive repairs, construction, carpentry, or other similar environments will be considered).
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and maneuver up to 100 pounds.
Ability to work comfortably at different heights.
Must be able to work overtime as required.
Must be willing to cross‑train and flex back into areas where you have demonstrated competency.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
Experience working in heavy industrial environments.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
Ability to read and understand basic instructions, safety information, and work orders.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly in all forms.

Responsibilities

Perform general department housekeeping, including clean up, stacking and identifying stock.
Operate forklifts and mobile equipment to load, move, and position material.
Inspect equipment and perform basic mechanical tasks to keep tools and machinery in safe working condition.
Follow all safety procedures on proper operation of equipment and job-related safety requirements.
Recognize and troubleshoot routine operational issues and communicate concerns promptly.
Complete required documentation and maintain accurate production records.
Adapt to changing priorities and work environments.
Work in conditions that can be hot (especially during summer months) and dusty or dirty due to carbon materials and bake operations.
Work nights, weekends, and overtime as required to support production needs.
