About The Position

Tokai Carbon is a leading graphite electrode manufacturer that powers essential industries. They are hiring dependable temporary Production Technicians for their Hickman, KY facility. This role begins as a temporary contract through CRG Staffing, with the potential for full-time employment based on business needs and performance. The position offers structured performance check-ins and starts at an hourly rate of $20.60, with the willingness to work varying shifts. The role involves general housekeeping, operating mobile equipment, performing basic mechanical tasks, adhering to safety procedures, troubleshooting operational issues, maintaining records, and adapting to changing priorities. The work environment can be hot, dusty, or dirty, and requires working nights, weekends, and overtime.

Requirements

  • Experience in a manufacturing role with the use of hand/power tools (experience in mechanical, electrical, automotive repairs, construction, carpentry, or other similar environments will be considered).
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions, safety information, and work orders.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly in all forms.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and maneuver up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to work comfortably at different heights.
  • Must be able to work overtime as required.
  • Must be willing to cross‑train and flex back into areas where you have demonstrated competency.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Experience working in heavy industrial environments.
  • Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform general department housekeeping, including clean up, stacking and identifying stock.
  • Operate forklifts, and mobile equipment to load, move, and position material.
  • Inspect equipment and perform basic mechanical tasks to keep tools and machinery in safe working condition.
  • Follow all safety procedures on proper operation of equipment and job-related safety requirements.
  • Recognize and troubleshoot routine operational issues and communicate concerns promptly.
  • Complete required documentation and maintain accurate production records.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and work environments.
  • Work in conditions that can be hot (especially during summer months) and dusty or dirty due to carbon materials and bake operations.
  • Work nights, weekends, and overtime as required to support production needs.
