About The Position

The Production Technician plays an integral role in the assembly and testing of mechanical and light electrical system assemblies, working from released engineering documentation. This position ensures that all manufacturing operations are conducted efficiently and accurately, contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing process. The role is a hybrid production and warehouse position supporting the operational needs of the Wilmington facility. The Production Technician reports to the Production Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Technical or vocational training is a plus.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in reading engineered drawings, schematics, and bill of materials.
  • Experience in an AS9100 and/or ISO9001 environment with exposure to industrial/manufacturing engineering principles and methods preferred.
  • Forklift certification or equivalent experience required.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and RF/Wi-Fi data collection devices preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with hand tools and hardware including torque wrenches and machinist rule.
  • Problem-solving and Technical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to follow released work and test instructions
  • Ability to work independently and in a prototype environment.
  • Effective written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills; detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel, Teams).

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Assembly of mechanical and light electrical systems from released documentation.
  • Use of crane, rigging and/or forklift.
  • Learning the components within mechanical systems being assembled.
  • Identify documentation issues and report discrepancies to the Production Supervisor or Engineering.
  • Review work instructions and follow special requirements as documented.
  • Compare kitted parts to bill of material (BOM) for any discrepancy and report.
  • Ensure assemblies are built to the specified requirements.
  • Test and troubleshoot light electrical systems.
  • Cut, profile, and package linear rail.
  • Provide input to the design team, when requested, regarding final assembly and recommendations for future units.
  • Remove parts from work-in-process (WIP) carts daily as assigned.
  • Understand assigned job priorities and daily production expectations.
  • Communicate job status, delays, or material shortages to the Production Supervisor
  • Identify and report material issues between production and engineering.
  • Foster a positive team environment; be respectful and consistent in communication.
  • Follow all quality standards, procedures, and corporate Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
  • Ensure that workshop is clean and presentable to customers and machinery/tools are in good order.
  • Support Warehouse Team with receiving, stocking, order pulling or shipping functions, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
