About The Position

The Heavy Equipment Lube Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance services on a variety of heavy equipment and diesel engine trucks. This role focuses on lubrication, fluid checks, oil changes, inspections, and accurate recordkeeping to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in a similar oil/lube technician or heavy equipment maintenance role
  • General knowledge of heavy equipment preventative maintenance and basic repairs
  • Prior experience servicing heavy equipment and maintaining fluid levels
  • Ability to work afternoon shifts and in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry over 60 pounds and push/pull over 60 pounds for up to one-third of the workday
  • Must provide own basic hand tools required for daily tasks
  • Valid driver’s license with no more than 3 points
  • Ability to obtain a DOT medical card
  • No felony convictions within the past 10 years
  • No DUI/DWI convictions within the past 5 years

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of engines, powertrain, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Class A or B CDL

Responsibilities

  • Lubricate moving parts of diesel engine trucks and heavy equipment using hand or air-powered grease guns
  • Inject grease into springs, universal joints, steering knuckles, and related components
  • Inspect and maintain proper fluid levels including engine oil, fuel, grease, transmission, differential, rear axle, steering gear, and power steering reservoirs
  • Drain and refill engine oil to required levels
  • Replace oil and air filters
  • Spray leaf springs with lubricant using spray equipment
  • Add water to radiators and batteries as needed
  • Check and maintain proper tire air pressure
  • Perform preventative maintenance services per company policy
  • Collect and handle oil and fluid samples for analysis
  • Safely operate a lube/grease truck to service company equipment
  • Accurately log daily work activities including oil changes, fuel usage, samples, and maintenance completed
  • Conduct visual inspections of equipment and report any issues or deficiencies
  • Recommend additional services based on inspection findings
  • Maintain fuel, oil, filter, and supply inventory
  • Complete all required daily paperwork and electronic records
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and contamination control policies
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and equipment operators
