About The Position

Howmet Fastening Systems is seeking a Production Technician III for its Waco, Texas team. The role produces parts that meet drawing and specification requirements and includes care and maintenance of equipment. When directed by the Manufacturing Supervisor, the technician functions as a tooling readiness specialist, trains other operators as required, and demonstrates commitment to continuous improvement.

The position involves setting up and operating assigned equipment; performing statistical process measurements and calculations; completing required forms and computer entries; maintaining tooling, gages, and supplies; supporting tooling and material readiness; contributing to productivity and quality targets; carrying out preventative maintenance and housekeeping; and preparing production reports. All work must follow established safety, environmental, and company standards and procedures.

The posted shift options are second or third shift. The company states that visa sponsorship is not available and employment eligibility will be verified at hire.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience performing mechanical work.
• Experience setting up and operating assigned equipment.
• Ability to set up and operate multiple equipment types, such as heading, rolling, and band annealing equipment.
• Ability to train operators in equipment setup and operation.
• Ability to read and interpret product blueprints and use inspection gages and instruments.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment eligibility verification is required at hire. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Produce parts that meet drawing and specification requirements.

• Order and maintain inventory levels of required tooling, gages, and supplies.
• Support team tooling and material readiness by assembling tooling setup kits, staging raw materials, and performing external setup tasks as required.
• Participate in setting and achieving team and individual productivity and quality targets.
• Participate in team continuous improvement efforts.
• Perform machine inspections, including daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance tasks.
• Perform shop floor housekeeping duties.
• Prepare daily production reports and forms.
• Train other operators as required.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and commitment to lean manufacturing principles and techniques.
• Ensure work activities comply with established safety and environmental standards.
• Conduct activities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
