About The Position

MSA Safety is a purpose-driven company committed to deploying innovation and technology to help protect people and assets around the world. This role is for a Production Technician II in Final Assembly at the Cranberry Township, PA location. The position is primarily responsible for the assembly, calibration gas application, and testing of moderately complex instruments and/or sub-assemblies, which may involve wiring and soldering. The role may require improvising methods and equipment setups using basic electronics knowledge and potentially picking parts from the warehouse. Additionally, the technician will perform visual inspections, minor repairs, and maintain relevant paperwork and computer system inputs. The specific tasks performed may vary daily based on the department's schedule and workload.

Requirements

Minimum 18 months electronics manufacturing or other related experience required.
Requires considerable on-the-job training and/or vocational training.
Past soldering experience required.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Associates Degree in electronics or electronic technology required.
Demonstrated proficiency in soldering.
Ability to read and understand drawings, work instructions and test procedures.
Ability to use a variety of test equipment.
Ability to read wiring diagrams.
Ability to understand standard units of measure.
Ability to set-up and interpret results of various measuring devices, including oscilloscopes and volt meters.
Ability to perform standard software operations including SAP.
Ability to sometimes lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Ability to use power and hand tools, and ability to use custom tooling.
Ability to regularly perform fine finger and hand activity / steady hand required.
Ability to effectively communicate with various levels within the organization including training of new associates and temporaries.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to prioritize and organize work.
Ability to Stand, sit and/or move around for full shift.
Safety glasses and steel toes shoes required.
Other PPE may be required per Job Safety Analysis.

Nice To Haves

Past experience building level I instruments preferred.
In lieu of degree, 3 years of experience working in the permanent instrument area required.

Responsibilities

Assembly, applying calibration gas, and tests, including set-up, of moderately complex instruments and/or sub-assemblies requiring wiring and soldering.
Improvise methods and equipment setups using basic electronics knowledge.
Pick parts from the warehouse.
Visual inspection and performing minor repairs.
Completing and maintaining relevant paperwork and inputs information in computer system.
Perform duties based on department schedule and workload.
