About The Position

Excelitas is a global technology leader with more than 7,500 employees, focused on delivering market-driven solutions to fulfill the illumination, optical, detection and imaging needs of OEMs and end-users across the biomedical, semiconductor, industrial, consumer products, scientific, security, defense and aerospace sectors. We are seeking for a Production Assembly Technician I on the swing shift. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Upon hire, employee benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance, up to 10 paid holidays per year, 18 days PTO, tuition reimbursement and a matching 401(k) plan! The hours are Monday-Friday, 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM, with occasional overtime, as business requires. 10% shift differential for working swing shift hours.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years electronic assembly experience preferred

  • High School Diploma or equivalent degree required

  • Read, write, and speak fluent English
  • Lifting up to 25 pounds unassisted
  • This position requires the use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)

Responsibilities

  • Follow written electronic assembly, quality, and safety procedures to assemble small to medium size, electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Production work, high repetition, small builds of same or similar products, build times minutes to hours in length.
  • Some work under magnification tool including 40X microscope.
  • Load firmware onto circuit boards.
  • Possess steadiness of hand for handling of very small mechanical parts and delicate electronics during mechanical assembly (M2, M3 screws).
  • Use of hand torque drivers (22 – 72 in oz) and other hand tools, fixtures for alignment and installation of components, pneumatic adhesive application tool.
  • Follow written assembly, quality, and safety procedures. Clearly and legibly complete all required written documentation.
  • Navigate company computer network to access online work instructions, applications, and software. Enter data into spreadsheets.

  • Isopropyl alcohol adhesives odors present
  • Constant noise present: ear protection required in some areas.
