About The Position

Advanced Technology Systems Company (ATSC) is seeking a skilled Production Technician to support assembly and system integration activities within a fast paced production environment. This role involves working with electronic components, off the shelf parts, manufactured components, wiring, hardware, and circuit board assemblies. The Production Technician will also provide basic technical guidance to ensure teams follow proper wiring and crimping techniques. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of hand-on experience working in an electronics or electromechanical assembly environment.
  • 4+ years of experience as a technician working on electrical/mechanical assemblies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Indepth knowledge of assembly and subassembly processes with the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs.
  • Skilled in fabrication using standard hand tools and measuring equipment.
  • Knowledge of basic computer technology and ability to work with test software/firmware.
  • High mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to distinguish wiring colors and identify electronic components.
  • Must be familiar with testing equipment, firmware loading, and software tools.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to support overtime, evenings, and weekend work when required.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience in QC or sensor systems preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience with industry workmanship standards preferred (IPCA610 for soldering, IPC/WHMAA620 for wire/crimp, etc.).
  • Experience assembling or working with circuit boards preferred.
  • Experience creating test plans and test procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical and electrical components according to established process documentation and work instructions.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete daily assembly tasks.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical assemblies using measurement tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Follow all established manufacturing processes and notify supervisors of needed improvements.
  • Review manufacturing documentation to verify adequacy, accuracy, and clarity; report discrepancies or issues.
  • Program and configure network components as required by build instructions.
  • Provide training and mentorship to Assemblers and Technicians to ensure proper workmanship and process adherence.
  • Support moderate level failure analysis and root cause investigations on process or product issues.
  • Serve as a liaison between Production and Engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Ensure product quality and functionality by performing inspections and verifying compliance with engineering requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with all company standards within the assigned process area.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
