About The Position

Advanced Technology Systems Company (ATSC) is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations in a fast paced production environment. The Production Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing production activities to ensure high quality products are delivered safely, efficiently, and cost effectively. This is a working manager role — hand-on, side-by-side with production teams — and reports directly to the Director of Operations. The ideal candidate understands complex assembly processes, drives continuous improvement, and provides strong leadership to production personnel.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; additional technical or vocational training preferred.
  • 7+ years of team leadership experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
  • 6–8 years of hand-on assembly/technician experience in electronics, electromechanical, or similar production environments.
  • High mechanical and/or electrical aptitude; ability to read and interpret drawings, basic schematics, and work instructions.
  • 6+ years of experience with industry workmanship standards such as IPCA610 (soldering) and IPCA620 (wire harness/crimping).
  • Strong analytical, creative, and detail oriented problem solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications and production related software systems.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to differentiate color coding on wires and electronic components.
  • Experience creating test plans, test procedures, and setting up test stations.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and direct all plant production operations to meet schedule, quality, and performance objectives.
  • Drive a culture of safety, quality, and productivity across the production floor.
  • Implement, enforce, and continuously improve operating procedures, work instructions, and production methods.
  • Provide day today leadership, guidance, and motivation to production staff to achieve high levels of performance and retention.
  • Communicate job expectations; plan, monitor, and evaluate employee performance; coach, train, and discipline staff as required.
  • Identify and resolve production issues, bottlenecks, or resource constraints to maintain schedule adherence.
  • Recommend improvements to facilities, equipment, and production processes to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and throughput.
  • Work cross functionally with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management to support product builds, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor production metrics, labor reporting, scrap, rework, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE); implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with workmanship standards (IPCA610, IPCA620), inspection methods, and engineering specifications.
  • Oversee training of technicians and assemblers on new processes, equipment, and quality expectations.
  • Support test plan execution and assist in setting up, validating, and managing test stations as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production workspace in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
