About The Position

Perricone Farms, a leading citrus juice supplier located in Fort Pierce, FL, is seeking a Production Technician 1, to join our team. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to walk; climb or balance and taste or smell.
  • Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Unload fruit from trucks onto a conveyor belt or fruit table using a shovel.
  • Grade, sort, and classify fruit based on size, weight, color, and overall condition.
  • Ensure that all fruit meets company standards and specifications before it proceeds to the next stage of processing or distribution.
  • Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of work areas and equipment to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Unload fruit onto conveyor belt or fruit table for grading.
  • As needed grade and sort products according to factors such as color, species, length, width, appearance, feel, smell, and quality to ensure correct processing and usage.
  • Discard inferior or defective products and/or foreign matter, and place acceptable products in containers for further processing.
  • Seal and fill empty juice drums as needed.
  • Grade and sort products according to factors such as color, species, length, width, appearance, feel, smell, and quality to ensure correct processing and usage.
  • Notifies supervisor of unusual problems.
  • Works in accordance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Follows health and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain and keep work area according to cGMP.
  • Comply with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.
  • Conduct all verification activities to assure finished product comply with food safety and quality specifications.
  • Participates in the yearly review of the food safety system.
  • Assist in the maintenance of Food Safety and Quality system.
  • Responsible for Non-GMO SGS Supply Chain Standards.
