This role involves performing tasks such as manual assembly, operating automated assembly equipment, hand soldering, operating automated test equipment, and inspection and repair of products. Additionally, the operator will perform machine and line setups, feeder repairs, and first-line preventative maintenance. The position requires specific certifications defined by site operations and an in-depth understanding of the board assembly process, product process flow, product quality, soldering specifications, and SMT processing systems. The operator must be able to set up, operate, calibrate, and maintain assembly and hand soldering equipment and tools, recognize and address problems in the assembly process or with components, and communicate effectively. Knowledge of in-circuit and functional test fixturing, as well as computer applications like Word, Lotus Notes, Excel, and documentation control systems, is also necessary. Advanced manufacturing systems knowledge is a plus.
