About The Position

This role involves performing tasks of moderate complexity where judgment is required in resolving problems and making recommendations. Decisions and actions may have a minor impact on work unit operations or schedules. The position works under general supervision, and situations not covered by standard processes are referred to expert resources. The operator may demonstrate work methods to new employees and interacts with supervisors, co-workers, and team members, exchanging factual information and providing explanations. Interactions with external contacts, if applicable, also involve exchanging factual information and providing some explanation.

Requirements

• Must possess specific certifications as defined by site operations.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of board assembly process and product process flow.
• In-depth knowledge of product quality, soldering specifications, and SMT processing systems.
• Ability to set up, operate, calibrate, and maintain assembly and hand soldering equipment and tools.
• Ability to recognize problems in the assembly process or with assembly components and to address those problems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
• Ability to work effectively with team members and lead the team to high-quality production within tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of in-circuit and functional test fixturing.
• Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to accurately perform tasks in some or all of the following applications: Word, Lotus Notes, Excel, and Documentation control systems.
• More advanced manufacturing systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Performs manual assembly, operation of automated assembly equipment, hand soldering, operation of automated test equipment, and inspection and repair of products.
• Performs machine and line setups, feeder repairs, and first-line preventative maintenance.
