About The Position

National Vision is seeking Production Lab Technicians for its growing optical manufacturing facility. These positions are responsible for performing a variety of duties depending on assigned department and lab needs, helping to expedite job orders throughout the manufacturing process in a timely and efficient manner to serve customers. Production Lab Techs will observe data on job orders, sort and organize job orders, perform RF scanning, and other department-specific tasks. Positions are available in multiple departments including Surface, AR, Finish, and Shipping.

Responsibilities

Observing data on job orders
Sorting and organizing job orders
RF scanning
Backside coating: ensuring lens is clean, spraying, wiping lens, and loading in machine
Blocking and Deblocking, block prep
Machine operation, taping, generating, polishing
Lens washing: removing lens from block, rinsing, washing, and drying lens to remove debris
Sorting lenses, cleaning and inspecting for imperfections
Cleaning dirty rings in ultrasonic cleaner and rinsing
Sandblasting sectors and panels
Loading lenses into sectors and placing in machines
Removing sectors, downloading lenses back to matching trays, visually inspecting
Operating and cleaning AR coating machine
Sorting trays, edging, beveling
Tinting: placing lens in holder and tinting to specified color
Mounting: inserting lenses into various frames, cleaning, visually inspecting
Final inspection: checking lens for defects, correct power, axis, prism, and compliance with ANSI standards
Shipping: scanning, bagging, sorting, and preparing customer orders for shipping
