About The Position

National Vision is seeking Optical Lab Technicians for their growing manufacturing facility. These are full-time positions available on new 3-day shifts (2A and 2B) with differential pay. The role involves performing various duties within the optical lab to expedite job orders efficiently. Opportunities exist for both entry-level and experienced candidates, with potential for career growth within the company.

Requirements

Must be able to read and write English

Nice To Haves

Prior mass production experience is preferred
Prior machine operation experience is preferred
Prior assembly experience is preferred
Prior related optical experience is desirable

Responsibilities

Observing data on job orders
Sorting and organizing job orders
RF scanning and other department specific tasks
Backside coating: ensuring lens is clean, spraying, wiping lens and loading in machine
Blocking and Deblocking, block prep
Machine operation, taping, generating, polishing
Lens washing: removing lens from block, rinsing, washing and drying lens to remove debris
Sorting lenses, cleaning and inspecting for imperfections
Cleaning dirty rings in ultrasonic cleaner and rinsing
Sandblasting sectors and panels
Loading lenses into sectors and placing in machines
Removing sectors, downloading lenses back to matching trays, visually inspecting
Operating and cleaning AR coating machine
Sorting trays, edging, beveling
Tinting: placing lens in holder and tinting to specified color
Mounting: inserting lenses into various frames, clean, visually inspect
Final inspection: check lens for defects, correct power, axis, prism and compliance with ANSI standards
Shipping: scanning, bagging, sorting and preparing customer orders for shipping
