About The Position

The Production Team Lead assists the Production Supervisor in guiding and supporting team members, assigning tasks, and ensuring quality and productivity standards are met. This role involves observing employee and equipment performance, collaborating with other departments, and providing hands-on assistance on the production floor. The Team Lead is also responsible for identifying opportunities to decrease waste and increase efficiency, promoting a safe work environment, training new and existing employees, and fostering positive employee morale and teamwork. Other duties may be assigned as required.

Requirements

Good coordination and attention to detail.
General knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses and maintenance as well as using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes.
Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions.
Effective leadership.
Clear verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in heavy industrial manufacturing or foundry industries.
Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the Production Supervisor in guiding and supporting team members.
Support the Supervisor in assigning tasks and ensuring team members have what they need.
Observe employee and equipment performance to ensure Quality and Productivity standards.
Communicate/collaborate with all other departments within the Foundry to support smooth operations.
Provide hands-on assistance and jump in to help production as needed.
Look for ways to decrease waste and increase efficiency for the department and associates.
Support workplace policy and procedure to promote a safe and healthy work environment by leading by example and reporting concerns to the Supervisor or Leadership.
Train new hires and current employees in department processes/procedures and in the operation of machines and equipment.
Foster positive employee morale and team work.
Perform other duties as required.
