About The Position
Support the cell leader in manufacturing LMS 100 Power Turbine Sub Assemblies (PTSAs). The role serves as the shop-floor technical connection between manufacturing personnel assembling the product, the Bill of Materials engineer, the Quality Engineer, the EHS Manager, and the remote product engineering team. It supports safe and efficient assembly, production troubleshooting, process improvement, quality, operator training, and production equipment needs.
Requirements
- Engineering or other technical degree from an accredited university.
Nice To Haves
- 3–5 years of heavy manufacturing experience.
- 3–5 years of rotating equipment experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist in creating safe and efficient assembly sequencing and a suitable shop-floor environment.
- Recommend methods and tools, based on experience, when existing documentation is insufficient.
- Resolve daily technical and technology-related production issues on the shop floor.
- Bring new ideas and positive support to current processes.
- Support investigations of quality issues.
- Analyze operator suggestions (Kaizen ideas) and provide input to the Cell Leader.
- Support the Cell Leader in identifying operator training and qualification needs.
- Participate in LEAN initiatives and support AWO actions through completion.
- Monitor manufacturing processes daily and work with the Quality Engineer to ensure operators follow established processes.
- Monitor production enablers, including tools, fixtures, and machines; collect and evaluate requests and equipment improvement opportunities.
- Participate in indirect-material specifications and supplier identification.
- Provide active input to shop-floor operator performance appraisals.
- Participate in mandatory EHS training and events.
- Immediately report incidents and near misses to the Cell Leader and EHS Manager, and halt operations when there is a risk of injury or property damage.
- Support the Quality Engineer in documenting operator procedures and collecting product-quality data.
- Perform additional tasks assigned verbally or in writing by the immediate leader or manager.
