About The Position

PlanIT Group is seeking a Production Support Analyst to support our Federal customer in the Washington, DC area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working across designated teams to ensure applications are fully available to all stakeholders and customers. This individual will assist development teams in deployments, routine patching, and system application monitoring / troubleshooting. Will analyze and evaluate complex data file processing, help translate customer reporting requirements, create reports, and provide application testing and validations. Will lead incident response calls and contribute / create after action reports.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of SQL (select statements, views, joins, indexing).
  • Ability to understand and write complex SQL to create report data.
  • Demonstrated experience using UNIX commands to manage production Linux servers.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining shell scripts for application maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience using SQL query on Oracle Databases to perform Database lookups.
  • Strong knowledge of Incident Management (ability to lead as a Critical Incident Manager).
  • Ability to quickly respond to system alerting to reduce application downtime.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively work directly with stakeholders, executives, and technical staff.
  • Effective liaison between business and technical teams.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of terminology, usage, and operating characteristics of hardware, software, and operating system components.
  • Strong facilitation skills to effectively lead Production Support Application Monitoring in real-time.
  • A minimum of thirteen (13) years of experience in software development.
  • At least 4 years of experience in Web-based design/development.
  • A degree from an accredited College/University in Software Engineering, Computer Science.
  • Moderate knowledge of and experience with designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining complex Web-based software systems.
  • Moderate experience developing/supporting software applications using Java and more than one of these software technologies: Active Server Pages (ASP), JavaScript, Oracle DBMS, SQL Server DBMS, Visual Basic, JavaScript, MS Access, HTML.
  • Moderate experience collaborating with end users to define new Web-based software system requirements.
  • Experience authoring or contributing to software-related documentation (requirements specifications, design documents, technical manuals, user manuals).
  • Able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
  • Pass client mandated clearance process (drug screening, criminal history check, credit check).
  • Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident / Green Card.
  • Must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
  • Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years.

  • Experience using logging tools such as Splunk Enterprise.
  • Experience using monitoring tools such as Neustar and AppDynamics.
  • Experience with cloud monitoring tools such as GCP Cloud Monitoring (Stackdriver) is a plus.
